More than two-thirds of Germans would prefer the UK to remain a member of the European Union, according to a poll.
The results of the survey released by German public service television broadcaster ZDF show that 67% of respondent want Britain to stay in the 28-nation bloc.
Some 8% of respondents were in favour of Brexit, according to the research carried out by polling group Forschungsgruppe Wahlen.
Just under a quarter (23%) of those polled said they did not feel strongly either way and 2% said they did not know.
The poll of 1,292 voters was conducted by phone from May 31 to June 2. The margin of error was between two and three percentage points.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she hopes the UK will choose to remain in the EU when it goes to the polls in the June 23 referendum.
