Two bombs kill 28 people in Southern Iraq

Two bombs exploded near a restaurant in the majority Shi'ite Muslim city of Hilla in southern Iraq this morning, killing 28 people, police and hospital sources said.

Scores were wounded in the blasts, which struck during the holy month of Ashura, of special significance to Shi'ites who are often targeted by al Qaeda's Iraqi affiliate and other Sunni Muslim insurgents.
