Teen pulled alive from quake site
A 13-year-old boy was pulled from a collapsed building without injury yesterday five days after Turkey's powerful earthquake.
He survived by drinking rain water that seeped through cracks in the wreckage around him, rescuers said.
The boy, Ferhat Tokay, peered through a tiny gap in the wreckage to see when it was day or night outside, his uncle Sahin Tokay said.
Ferhat was discovered yesterday, soon after rescue workers had sent relatives away from the site, saying there was no chance of finding the boy alive.
"He didn't have a scratch on him!" Mr Tokay said.
The 7.2-magnitude quake killed at least 575 people and left about 2,500 injured and thousands homeless.
