Security forces arrested a man carrying two handguns at Disneyland Paris last night.

The man (28) was found with the weapons, ammunition and a copy of the Koran as he passed through security at a hotel at the resort.

His partner fled after he was seized and was last night still on the run.

François Banon, a spokesman for Disneyland Paris, said: “During a routine security screening checkpoint at one of our hotels, weapons were discovered in a guest’s luggage through our X-ray machine.

“The police were immediately notified and the individual arrested. We continue to work closely with the authorities, and the safety and security of our guests and cast members is our utmost priority.”

France remains under a state of emergency since the Islamist attacks in Paris in November which killed 130 people.

Earlier this week, EU policing agency Europol warned that Isil was planning further attacks, with France at particular risk.
