Lesbians' delight with quintuplets pregnancy

Bonnie Malkin in Sydney

A lesbian couple in Australia beat the odds of more than one in 60 million when one of them became pregnant with quintuplets without using IVF.

Melissa Keevers (27) and Rosemary Nolan (21) used a sperm donor to conceive and were surprised when their doctor said they would be having five babies.

"I was in shock for weeks," said Miss Keevers, who is carrying the babies. "It took me a long time to get my head around what was happening. But now I've come to terms with it, I'm excited."
