Paddy Barnes has his phone stolen at Rio Olympics
Michael Conlon wasn't the only Irish boxer robbed in Rio today.
Paddy Barnes has become the latest Olympian to fall foul criminals in the Brazilian city which is hosting the 2016 'Games.
RTE were attempting to contact the light fly weight for an interview following Michael Conlan's shock loss to Russian Vladimir Nikitin in the quarter-final of the bantamweight division this afternoon.
They were unable to get in touch so they tried to tweet him. Barnes, the Irish team captain, responded: "My mobile was stolen."
Independent.ie was unable to contact Barnes for further explanation.

This latest theft comes just days after gold medalist Ryan Lochte and three other three other US swimmers were robbed by individuals posing as armed police officers in Rio.
The four swimmers — including Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen — were in a taxi traveling from France’s hospitality venue to the Olympic Village when the incident occurred, the US Olympic Committee said.
In June a paralympic athlete was mugged and a few days before the Opening Ceremonies, Australian Olympians were robbed after their building was evacuated.

There were also reports that two stray bullets were found at the equestrian site.
