A French priest kidnapped in Cameroon in mid-November has been set free, authorities have said.
French president Francois Hollande thanked officials in Cameroon and Nigeria for their "relentless" efforts in helping to free the rev Georges Vandenbeusch.
The priest was kidnapped on November 13 in the far north of Cameroon, about 18 miles from the border with Nigeria.
Foreign minister Laurent Fabius is heading to the capital, Yaounde, to bring the rev Vandenbeusch home.
Six French citizens continue to be held hostage in Mali and in Syria.
