two Hamas gunmen in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday, Palestinian hospital officials said, but Israel denied mounting an attack.

Hamas said three of its gunmen died in the explosion near the town of Beit Hanoun, and blamed an Israeli attack. But hospital officials said one of the casualties was severely hurt rather than killed.

Cowell to launch 'X Factor' in US

Simon Cowell said yesterday he will leave 'American Idol' to launch 'The X Factor' in the US.

Cowell, who first launched 'The X Factor' in the UK in 2004, will serve as both executive producer and judge on the US version, which will be screened by Fox next year.

A US company says it has developed "the world's first sex robot" which can converse with the owner.

At a demonstration at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, the dark-haired, negligee-clad robot said "I love holding hands with you" when it sensed that its creator touched its hand.

Woman uses stun gun on hugger

A 29-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested accused of using a stun gun on a woman who tried to hug her.

Deborah Downing was charged with aggravated battery and petty theft. The victim told Florida police she had differences with Downing, but thought they had resolved them.

Stolen oven's GPS leads to burglar

A PROLIFIC burglar was caught after stealing an oven which had a GPS locator in it.

Dusten Norris is accused of taking appliances from homes all over Moore, Oklahoma. A builder who had suffered several losses rigged the oven up in a house he was working on and the signal was traced to Norris's home by police.
