An inmate in a US jail says he's being subjected to cruel and unusual punishment because he can't have pornography.

In a hand-written lawsuit, 21-year-old Kyle Richards says denying his request for erotic material is in violation of his civil rights and amounts to "sexual and sensory deprivation".

Motorcyclist died on helmet protest

A motorcyclist riding without a helmet in protest at New York state's helmet law crashed, struck his head on the roadway and died from his injuries, according to US police.

Philip Contos (55) was riding among a large group of motorcyclists staging an organised protest ride against the state law requiring motorcyclists to wear helmets in New York.

Lily Allen has criticised celebrities who starve themselves or take drugs to lose weight.

The 'Smile' singer said she was "deeply unhappy" after she lost weight. She told 'Elle' magazine: "I hang out with models, the biggest pop stars and, you know really and honestly, I hate saying this, but none of them are achieving those body shapes by being healthy.
