In brief: Bus users 'walk 300 miles a year'

Commuters who catch buses to work walk nearly 300 miles a year, new research shows.

Passengers walk an average of 0.8 miles each day. Dr David Lewis, who carried out the research said: "Those who travels by bus daily walk up to 286 miles per year, equivalent to walking 11 marathons."

Eatery sues over phone-book listing

A restaurant listed in the phone book under "Animal Carcass Removal" was the butt of a joke by comedian Jay Leno earlier this year.

But it is no laughing matter to the owner of Bar 3 Bar-B-Q in Montana, US. Hunter Lacey says his restaurant's reputation has been damaged. He is suing Dex Media Inc, the book's publisher, claiming an employee deliberately published the listing after he declined to buy an ad.

Angelynn Perchermeier married Kyle Ray in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Friday, 100 years to the day her great-great-grandparents exchanged their vows. Her great-grandparents also got hitched on September 9, and so did her grandparents.

MP 'humiliated' by Cameron's insult

British MP Nadine Dorries has told of her "hurt and confusion" after David Cameron "humiliated" her at prime minister's questions.

Ms Dorries said she felt her "cheeks burn" as Mr Cameron labelled her "extremely frustrated" last Wednesday. The incident came before she was due to unveil a plan to limit advice given to pregnant women considering abortion.

Kylie hates talking about baby plans

Kylie Minogue said she hates it when people ask if she plans to have children.

"The answer I have is, 'If it happens for me -- beautiful'," she said. Minogue (43) who is dating 33-year-old model Andres Velencoso, added: "I love children and I love the thought of having a family."
