The trustee liquidating Bernard Madoff's firm is seeking a bankruptcy judge's approval of an agreement to allow the sale of Madoff's $7m yacht "Bull" to benefit the conman's investors.

A hearing on the matter has been set in the US Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan. Under the deal struck by trustee Irving Picard, he could stake a claim to the proceeds of a sale on behalf of investors.

TV star Solomon is mum of the year

Stacey Solomon has been named celebrity mum of the year. The ITV 'I'm A Celebrity' contestant was unveiled as this year's top mother by sponsors FoxyBingo.com.

Solomon, who has a son, Zachary, shot to fame as a finalist in 'X Factor' in 2009.

Men steer clear of sat nav advice

A survey has revealed that men are more likely to ignore directions given by their satellite navigation systems than women -- confirming the old stereotype that men hate asking for directions.

While 83pc of male drivers regularly rebel against their sat navs, less than three-quarters of women disobey the devices, which drivers branded as "untrustworthy" and "inaccurate" in the study.

Willie to sing his way out of trouble

A Texas prosecutor says Willie Nelson can resolve marijuana possession charges by agreeing to plead guilty, pay a fine -- and sing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" for the court.

Attorney Kit Bramblett says he recommended the penalties to Judge Becky Dean-Walker, who specifically demanded Nelson appear in court instead of pleading by mail, as she reportedly "wants to meet Willie".

Nelson was arrested on November 26 for marijuana possession at a Border Patrol checkpoint.

A bikini-clad woman accused of running amok at a Burger King in Florida has become an internet video hit.

Kimesa Smith is seen throwing items at staff, jumping on to the counter and hitting someone with a large container after complaining about her food.
