Heartfelt Mass for miracle wafer

CATHOLICS in Poland have attended a Mass celebrating what they believe to be a miracle: the appearance on a communion wafer of a dark spot they are convinced is the heart of Jesus.

The wafer developed a brown spot in 2008 after falling on the floor during a Mass in the town of Sokolka. Two medical doctors determined the spot was heart muscle tissue.

Simmons and Tweed tie the knot

ROCKER Gene Simmons and his longtime girlfriend, actress Shannon Tweed, have tied the knot.

The couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves and about 400 guests attended the Saturday evening ceremony outside a Beverly Hills hotel. The 62-year-old Kiss bassist and the 54-year-old Tweed have two children.

Webster in heart attack scare

'MINDER' star Gary Webster has told how he was struck down by a "significant heart attack". The 47-year-old said he had "no idea" that his heart "was a ticking time bomb" until he fell ill.

He said he only went to hospital four days after he first experienced chest pains.

Man held after 4x4 left on mountain

A MAN has been arrested after a 4x4 vehicle was found abandoned on the top of Mount Snowdon, Wales, for the second time in a month.

The Vauxhall Frontera was found near the visitors' centre. A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing criminal damage.

Fine by me -- cop tickets own wife

A POLICE chief in New Jersey ordered an officer to ticket his wife after she double parked while dropping off their 5-year-old son at school.

He said he didn't want her to get any special treatment because of who she was. The chief paid the $54 (€40) fine.

Magician makes a serious boob

THE chairman of a school committee in the US has apologised for a magic trick he performed before a televised meeting in which he appeared to tear the bra off a fellow committee member through her clothes.

The trick was met with stunned silence.
