Golfer feeling under par after crocodile attack

A MAN is recovering in hospital after reportedly being attacked by a crocodile while playing golf in Mexico.

Dougie Thompson (58), originally from Wishaw near Glasgow, had been in Cancun for a family wedding when his round of golf came to an abrupt end.

He told how he was attacked just after clipping a shot from a bunker on to the green.

"I took a shot and it landed on the green. Then I heard this noise behind me and this huge crocodile snapped me by the thigh.

"I couldn't feel pain, I was in total shock."

Mr Thompson said he was rescued by his friends.

"One of them started hitting the crocodile while the other actually drove the cart over it."

Mr Thompson will be flown to Toronto, where he now lives, for further treatment. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
