A sketch of the mysterious bearded biker spotted at the Alps family murder scene has been released by police investigation the crime.
Wearing a rare helmet, the motorcyclist was seen by witnesses close to the village of Chevaline above Lake Annecy at the time of the shooting
Saad al Hilli, a 50-year-old British-Iraqi businessman, was gunned down in the attack in September 2012.
His wife and mother were also killed as a result of the attack but Mr al Hilli's two daughters survived.
An apparently innocent bystander, French cyclist Sylvain Mollier, was also killed as he happened to cycle by at the time of the fatal incident.
Benoit Vinnemann, the head of investigations for the local police force, said: "More than the identikit photo itself, it is the type of helmet that is interesting.
"This is someone who was close to the scene during a time period that interests us and who may have done or seen something.
"He is potentially the perpetrator, but mainly a witness."
