A father has been charged with shooting dead a drunk driver who mowed down and killed his two sons in Texas.
The boys aged 13 and 12 were helping push the family pick-up truck home after it broke down on a dark, narrow rural road when the car ploughed into them.
Their father David Barajas, 31, was with them and after the accident is accused of walking 50 yards to his house, getting a handgun and shooting driver Jose Banda, 20, once in the head.
Barajas's 12-year-old son David Jr. died at the scene and his 11-year-old boy Caleb died in hospital after the crash near Houston.
Barajas was arrested and is being held in jail.
His wife, Cindy, was in the truck when it was hit, along with the couple's eight-year-old daughter and three-month-old son.
A search of Barajas' home found ammunition that is consistent with the bullet that killed Banda, but police have not found the weapon used in the shooting.
