Three men were charged after a woman was allegedly lured on Facebook to the Eiffel Tower where she was gang-raped.

The three men, understood to be Algerian, were arrested this week in a Paris hotel in connection with raping the woman.

The attack reportedly took place in the large Champs-de-Mars garden, located to the south-west of the tower.

One of the men is suspected of making contact with the woman on Facebook and arranging a date in the French capital.

The prosecutor's office confirmed the men have been remanded in custody, DailyMail reports.

It is not clear when the incident took place.
