A WOMAN who falsely accused her lover of rape has been jailed for two years.
Keeley Horrocks (20) of Grant Street, Burnley, Lancashire, accused the 59-year-old victim who was arrested and had his home searched by police, Bolton Crown Court heard.
He was then interviewed and denied any wrongdoing, explaining that the pair had been in a consensual sexual relationship for nine months. The suspect, from Rochdale, was released on bail after spending 20 hours in custody.
Horrocks underwent a full medical examination and over several days was video interviewed by trained officers, and gave a lengthy and detailed account of her ordeal, all of which proved to be false.
Horrocks later pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice following her initial report on January 3, 2010.
