Winning X-Factor singer breaks records with 'Impossible' sales

SINGER James Arthur (pictured) has smashed 'X Factor' sales records with the release of his debut single 'Impossible'.

Despite a decline in viewers for this year's ITV show, the 24-year-old has notched up the fastest-selling winner's single at this point in its release. According to the UK Official Charts Company, by midnight on Monday there were 187,000 digital sales of 'Impossible', which went on sale on Sunday immediately after Arthur was crowned 'X Factor' winner. The CD version goes on sale today.

The sales overtake those of all previous winners – including Alexandra Burke's debut 'Hallelujah', which sold 147,000.
