Wenger hits back over UK tabloid report

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger spoke out yesterday after allegations concerning his private life were carried in a British tabloid newspaper.

The football manager said the claims were a "serious matter" that he wished to deal with "privately".

Arsenal FC echoed the sentiment, calling for Wenger's and his family's privacy to be respected.

The comments follow a front-page article in 'The Sun' containing allegations surrounding the 61-year-old's personal life. A club statement read: "Arsenal Football Club considers the allegations concerning our manager Arsene Wenger strictly a private matter."
