Taoiseach Enda Kenny has offered the support of the Irish people to Britain in the wake of two shocking terror attacks in London tonight.

A massive emergency operation is in place in the city after multiple casualties were reported after two separate terror incidents.

Police were called at around 10.08pm to reports of a vehicle hitting pedestrians on London Bridge.

Officers then attended a second incident at nearby Borough Market after reports of stabbings. Armed officers responded and shots were fired.

More than one casualty has been confirmed but the situation remains fluid.

The Irish Embassy is "monitoring the situation" and has asked people to follow the advice of the local authorities.
