A US embassy employee in Malta has been sent home after a dispute with a Maltese driver was taped and uploaded to YouTube.
The US embassy confirmed last night that the employee "did not comport with the standards of behavior that we expect from all embassy personnel."
The embassy did not confirm if the employee had been fired or had been repatriated.
The incident occurred last weekend and shows the US embassy employee challenging the Maltese driver after their two cars almost bumped into each other in a small street in St. Julian's.
Neither driver backed down and the US embassy employee launched into a barrage of expletive-laden abuse and tried to open the other driver's locked door.
The video has already become a YouTube sensation and has attracted over 121,000 views.
