Video: Quick-thinking helps save politician with gun pointed at head

This dramatic picture captures the moment when Ahmed Dogan, the leader of Bulgaria's Movement for Rights and Freedoms, was confronted by a gunman during a speech in Sofia.

Mr Dogan struck the man before he could pull the trigger, while other delegates pulled the assailant to the ground. TV footage showed several people punching, kicking and stamping on the man. Police arrested him and took him to hospital.

The attacker was identified as Oktai Enimehmedov (25), a Bulgarian national and ethnic Turk. He was carrying the pistol and two knives.
