A LIVE debate between opposing politicians descended into a brawl on Georgian TV,

Georgian Dream MP Koba Davitashvili and UNM’s Sergo Ratiani were involved in a discussion on Maestro TV’s political chat show Arguments over a February 8 incident outside the National Library during which the latter was among politicians assaulted by protesters.

Davitashvili both criticised police for their failure to prevent the February 8 incident and also said UNM had provoked the incident.

Ratiani said that GD was generally trying to evade responsibility for what happened and Davitashvili shouted at him saying that  he had almost been “killed” by the previous authorities and that he would speak about it.

Later, Davitashvili told Ratiani: “you are scum, murderer and not a man.”

Ratiani took glass of water and smashed it onto the table in front of him.

Then Davitashvili stood up and moved towards Ratiani as the latter was telling him to back off.

The two men brawled for a few seconds before the programme was taken off air.
