Vicious murder was taped by 999 worker
A man and a woman were locked up for life yesterday for the brutal murder of a mother of four which was recorded by 999 operators.
Colin Renicks (38) and Megan Watt (20) stabbed 36-year-old Ann Marie Kelly repeatedly and beat her with a bottle at her home in North Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Unknown to the pair, their "sustained and vicious" assault on February 27 this year was being taped by a 999 worker.
Ms Kelly's partner, Joseph Curtis, had managed to contact the emergency services on his phone moments before she died.
The harrowing recording was played to a jury at the High Court in Glasgow.
Renicks, who ultimately admitted murder, was ordered to spend a minimum of 19 years in prison. Watt, who was convicted of murder, was told she must spend at least 20 years behind bars.
