A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank at gunpoint.

A branch of Barclays bank in Breck Road, Liverpool, was held up just after 11.50am on Friday.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "The 15-year-old male, from the Anfield area, has been taken into custody where he will be questioned."

Police said the thief entered the bank and threatened staff with a gun before fleeing with cash.

Staff inside the bank were unhurt but have been left distressed by their ordeal, police added.
