Tommy Connors Snr (51), his sons Johnny Connors (30), Tommy Connors Jnr (26), James (Jimmy) Connors (23) and Patrick Connors (19), daughter Josie Connors (30) and son- in-law James (Big Jim) Connors (33) all appeared at Luton Crown Court yesterday.

They were charged with conspiring to hold a person in servitude and conspiracy to require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour, Bedfordshire Police said.

They were arrested following a police operation in September at the Green Acres caravan site near Leighton Buzzard in the UK.

The six male defendants have all been remanded in custody, while Josie Connors remains on bail, a police spokeswoman said.

All seven will next appear at Luton Crown Court in February next year.
