Town of Luck lives up to its name in lottery

A town called Luck produced more than €15m worth of winners in Spain's Christmas lottery, known as El Gordo (The Fat One).

A shop in Sort -- the Catalan word for luck -- in the Pyrenees sold tickets that netted €15m in the lottery, which boasts the biggest total payout in the world.

The shop sells more tickets than any outlet in Spain. It has stocked several winning tickets.

Prizes totalling €2.3bn were won by several thousand winners. The winning number appeared on 195 tickets, but with one costing €200 syndicates are common and it is rare to get instant millionaires. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
