AN 18-year-old man was stabbed to death while attending a fundraising event in England for a teenager who was knifed exactly a year ago.
The man died in hospital in the early hours of this morning after he was attacked outside KCs nightclub in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham last night.
West Midlands Police said they believe the victim had been attending a fundraiser at the club for Kyle Sheehan, who died after he was stabbed in the leg on September 21 in Bartley Green last year.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he attended a police station in Dudley this morning, a force spokesman said.
Officers were called to Coronation Road just before 11pm last night by the ambulance service. The victim was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of this morning.
Part of the road remains cordoned off this afternoon as inquiries continue at the scene.
Specially trained officers are supporting the victim's family and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Police are appealing for anyone who was at TCs last night or who witnessed the stabbing to contact them.
Detective Inspector Gary Plant said: "We are in the very early stages of this investigation and are appealing to anyone with any information to call us."
