A teenager found guilty of luring his ex-girlfriend into a wood and smashing her skull with a rock was told yesterday he will serve at least 14 years in prison.
Rebecca Aylward (15), of Maesteg, near Bridgend, south Wales, was bludgeoned to death with a rock the size of a rugby ball.
Killer Joshua Davies (16) left his former girlfriend face-down in the rain wearing new clothes she had bought for their meeting. The brutal murder was carried out in an isolated area of woodland at Aberkenfig, near Bridgend last October.
Davies was given a life sentence at Swansea Crown Court yesterday and told he would serve a minimum of 14 years in prison.
Sonia Aylward, the victim's mother, hit out after the sentencing hearing, and called for the death penalty for Davies.
