Yesterday, Sarah Jane O'Callaghan, defending, told Judge Mary Ellen Ring that the trial was likely to take two weeks

A teacher at an all-girls public school has admitted engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old pupil.

Emily Fox, 26, who taught at the Royal Masonic School for Girls in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, pleaded guilty to four counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust, a spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Police said.

Fox, from Bath, entered the pleas at St Albans Crown Court and will return for sentencing on September 5.

Her bail conditions mean that she is not allowed to attend the school or have contact with anyone aged under 16, the spokeswoman added.

The Royal Masonic School for Girls takes both day and boarding pupils aged seven to 18, with a pre-school which takes pupils from the age of two.

It was founded in 1788 to educate the daughters of Freemasons who were unable to support their families.
