Spanish airport strikes cancelled
SPANISH airport workers have called off strikes that threatened travel chaos for holidaymakers this summer.
Unions cancelled two days of industrial action scheduled for August 18 and August 26.
The powerful CCOO, UGT and USO unions threatened to stage a walkout by 60,000 ground staff.
They were protesting after four baggage handlers at Barcelona's El Prat Airport were laid off, in breach of an agreement with the unions.
However, all four have now been reinstated.
