A group of seven scientists were indicted on manslaughter charges yesterday for allegedly failing to sufficiently warn residents before a devastating earthquake that killed more than 300 people in Italy in 2009.
Defence lawyers condemned the charges, saying it's impossible to predict earthquakes.
Judge Giuseppe Romano Gargarella said the scientists "gave inexact information".
