Ryanair provides extra flights in wake of protests

Ryanair announced that it will operate extra flights today for the hundreds of passengers caught up in yesterday's wildcat strikes by Spanish workers.

Some 1,400 Irish passengers faced severe travel disruption at Dublin and Shannon airports yesterday, while hundreds more were stranded at Spanish airports after 24 hours of general strikes in Spain.

Aer Lingus was also forced to cancel most flights to and from Spain yesterday morning.
