Rolf Harris faces new sex charges
Entertainer Rolf Harris will be prosecuted over three further allegations of indecent assault, Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said early today.
A CPS spokesman said: “The three counts will be prosecuted in addition to the 13 alleged sexual offences with which Mr Harris was charged on August 29, 2013.
“The alleged offences relate to one existing complainant and two new complainants.”
The three new charges relate to one existing complainant and two new complainants.
The first charge is of indecent assault relating to a girl aged 19 in 1984 – the same complainant as six of the existing charges.
The two other charges are of indecent assault of a girl aged seven or eight, in 1968 or 1969, and one offence of indecent assault of a girl aged 14, in 1975.
The 83-year-old Australian entertainer had a long career in British children's TV in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Mr Harris will next appear at Southwark Crown Court in London for a plea and case management hearing on January 14.
His trial is scheduled to begin on April 30.
