SPAIN'S ruling conservative Popular Party has been forced to deny allegations that Mariano Rajoy, the prime minister, benefited from a secret party slush fund.
Photographs of handwritten accounts showing business donations to party figures were published by the respected centre-left newspaper 'El Pais'. Allegedly kept by two former party treasurers, the records cover nearly 20 years.
'El Pais' said the photos showed Mr Rajoy received €25,200 per year between 1997 and 2008. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
