A mother who went missing with her one-year-old son is being sought by police over concerns for the baby's welfare.

West Midlands Police said Jessica Simpson - also known as Jessica Halls - went missing along with Alfie Rogers on Friday afternoon.

Officers have spoken to the 30-year-old's relatives and people who know her and now think the pair have been staying at the homes of different friends.

Police have now directly appealed for Ms Simpson to get in touch and bring Alfie home.

Sergeant Craig Lewis, of West Midlands Police, said: "Alfie usually lives with his grandma but has been with his mum for a number of days now.

"It's time that he went home.

"I'm appealing directly to Jessica to get in touch so that we can pick little Alfie up.

"He'll have had an exhausting couple of days moving from place to place and needs to go home.

"Jessica, please call us now on 101 so that we can get officers to where you are."

Ms Simpson is described as white, 5ft 3 inches tall and slim, with brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair.
