Police push vehicles to save petrol

A VIDEO showing Polish police trainees simulating a car chase by pushing vehicles round a course to save on petrol has provoked criticism that the government is starving the service of funds.

The police van powered by a group of students is in pursuit of a white car. As it turns a corner, the white car is then intercepted by a second police van. Inspector Dorota Matys, college spokesman, said it was officially "static", teaching students how to remove suspects from cars with no need to start the engines. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
