Police probe after 24-year-old dies

Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in a Cardiff suburb

A police investigation is under way after the body of a 24-year-old person was found in a Cardiff suburb.

The grim discovery in St Fagan's Road, Fairwater, was made at around 9.10pm on Saturday.

South Wales Police said the body is believed to be that of a "local male" - although formal identification has not yet taken place.

A spokesman added the death was being treated as "sudden and unexplained" at this stage.

He added: "Enquiries are currently ongoing by local officers and South Wales Police will not be making any further comment at this time."

In the meantime, tributes have been paid on social networking sites to the deceased - who has been named locally as Lewis Martin.
