Poetic licence over human rights charter
THE European Union is planning to turn its Charter of Fundamental Human Rights into an epic 80-minute poem to be performed to the accompaniment of music, dance and "multimedia elements".
The European Agency for Fundamental Rights is seeking "to contract a poet or other experienced individual to devise a poetic composition based on the articles of the EU charter". A spokesman said it could turn the dry language into something "more relevant to citizens". (© Daily Telegraph, London)
