Piers Morgan upsets Tea Party candidate, storms off set
US Tea Party favourite Christine O’Donnell stormed off the set of the Piers Morgan Tonight show last night after objecting to the CNN host's questions about sexual abstinence and gay marriage.
"I'm not talking about policies. I'm not running for office," O'Donnell said. "Ask Michele Bachmann what she thinks."
O'Donnell was on the show to promote her new book 'Trouble Maker: Let's Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again'.
When Morgan asked her why she was being "weird" about answering questions on her own statements and what she had written in the book, O'Donnell said she only wanted to talk about the Tea Party principles outlined in her book.
"That's why I agreed to come on your show. That's what I want to talk about," O'Donnell said.
"I'm not being weird. You're being a little rude," she added before walking off the show.
“Ms. O'Donnell wasn't happy about me quizzing her reviews on witchcraft and sex. But really flipped at gay marriage Qs. Ripped mike and fled,” Morgan tweeted shortly after the incident.
O'Donnell herself tweeted some hours later, "Piers, thanks for the invite. Schedule is already packed, maybe another night. No hard feelings, you cheeky bugger."
