Penelope Cruz makes documentary on childhood leukaemia
Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz is pictured out promoting a new documentary film about childhood leukaemia in Madrid yesterday.
Last year, she starred in 'Ma Ma', a film about a woman fighting breast cancer. The 41-year-old actress said: "My goal was to raise awareness about this sensitive issue."
But this is the Spanish star's first documentary and it tells the story of several children with leukaemia - or cancer of the blood cells - their parents and their doctors.
Earlier this year, she explained: "I will soon meet the children. Some have beaten the disease, others are working on it. I will just be an observer and it will be they who tell the world what is happening."
She said she hopes the documentary will encourage more people to work on research to find a cure for the disease.
