Obese children have a poorer sense of taste

OBESE children have a less sensitive sense of taste than children of normal weight, researchers have claimed.

The study, conducted by German researchers, found the obese children were significantly less likely to identify the individual taste sensations correctly, particularly salty, umami and bitter tastes.

They also classed sweet tastes at a much lower intensity than other children.
