THE reporter who broke the story of motorsport boss Max Mosley's sadomasochistic "orgy'' with five prostitutes told a British High Court judge yesterday it had an "absolutely overwhelming Nazi'' theme.
Neville Thurlbeck said he was "completely surprised'' by the level of the Nazism, which appeared in footage secretly filmed at a flat in Chelsea, west London, in March this year, by one of the women -- witness E.
"I kind of suspected it might be some sort of watered down comedy version of [sitcom] 'Allo, Allo'." the News of the World reporter said. "But, when we looked at the video it became clear very quickly there was a very cynical Nazi theme.''
Earlier, the newspaper's editor, Colin Myler, told Mr Justice Eady, who is hearing the landmark breach of privacy action, he believed the story was of "legitimate public interest''.
Mr Mosley (68), the president of the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) and son of 1930s Fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley, is seeking an unprecedented award of punitive exemplary damages against the newspaper, which ran pictures and footage of the orgy.
The hearing continues today.
