A nineteen year-old girl has come under fire after her Instagram pictures were stolen and used on a number of catfishing accounts.

Amelia Perrin was made aware of the theft when she was contacted by a man who told her he had met her on an amateur modelling website.

The man claimed that he contacted her after spotting her pictures on the site, and that the two exchanged nudes before arranging to meet up.

He had tracked her down to her Instagram to ask her why she'd stood him up.

The nudes had the heads cut off and Amelia says they weren't even a close match to her body type.

"The photographer sent me all the photos he had of 'me', asking if I'd sent these nudes to anyone who might want revenge.

Fortunately, the nudes could only have been me if I'd somehow gained about nine stone overnight (I'm not quite sure how he didn't put two and two together)".

She adds that the photos on the modelling website were stolen from her accounts.

"However, the (clothed) pictures were mine."

Amelia tracked down a number of other accounts using her photos, including one with the username 'BeccaThompson1996'. Amelia and her friends commented and sent private messages until the account stopped posting her photos.

Amelia's story made it to sites like The Tab and Unilad, where comments include calling her "unbelievably narcissistic" and saying "She's a slut, she deserves it".

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Do u know what it's like to go on uni lad and read 1000 comments saying you're an ugly slut?... Back to bed I go".

"Some people will say I should just stop uploading selfies if I don't want them to get stolen, but why should I change myself just because there are arseholes out there in the world? That's like saying if you don't want to get robbed, don't own things."

Amelia competed in the Miss Britain pageant, securing the title of Miss South East 2015.
