A man whose penis was severed in a savage attack last year has been found dead, according to reports.
Police closed the A66 in Middlesbrough last March after the 40-year-old was discovered last March wandering beside the carriageway in a distressed state.
A 22-year-old man was held by police for questioning on suspicion of assault and was later bailed pending further inquiries.
Yesterday, Cleveland Police officers were called to an address in King George's Terrace, South Bank, Teesside, after the body of a man was found.
The force, which would not name the man, said the death was not being treated as suspicious and that a post mortem was due to be held.
