Man stabbed by gang of burglars as he protected family in UK
A father suffered serious injuries after being repeatedly stabbed by a trio of burglars when he tried to protect his wife and daughter, police have confirmed.
The 47-year-old, named locally as Tony Abrahams, confronted intruders after being woken by a noise at his Luton house in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Three men, described by Bedfordshire Police as black and in their twenties, are believed to have forced their way into the Abrahams' home in Wellfield Avenue at about 3am.
Detective Constable Mo Hussain said a man was "attacked and stabbed" by the offenders, who then fled the scene. He added that the victim's wife and daughter, believed to be Catrina, 52, and 23-year-old Jade, raised the alarm upon finding Mr Abrahams injured.
The father-of-one was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital, where he remained in a serious but stable condition.
The East England Ambulance Service confirmed that a man in his forties suffered injuries that were not thought to be "immediately life-threatening".
A spokeswoman for Bedfordshire Police said no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
