An extreme yoga fanatic drowned in a quarry after an experiment to achieve enlightenment went tragically wrong, an inquest has been told.
Luke Monrose (27), who was also a spiritualist, intended to induce a "near-death experience". By pushing his body to extremes and catching hypo- thermia he believed he might "unlock the secrets of the afterlife".
His ambition, according to reports in Britain, was to attain psychic powers and enjoy an out-of-body experience by cheating death.
The body of Mr Monrose was found in a quarry in Cornwall where he had conducted his ill-fated experiment.
