Before the injunction row, Imogen Thomas was more likely to appear in the pages of lads' magazines than newspapers.
The 28-year-old former Miss Wales came to public attention in the seventh series of Channel 4 hit 'Big Brother', in 2006, in which she lasted three months in the house.
Fans compared her looks to Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Thomas went on to build a successful career as a glamour model and made further forays into the world of TV.
Her accolades included being voted Sexiest Ever Big Brother Housemate and one of 'FHM's Top 100 Sexiest Women in the World.
The former beauty queen also had her own fly-on-the-wall TV show 'Salon Imogen', which followed her opening up her own business, a nail bar in Cardiff.
Recently TV viewers watched as Thomas, who has reportedly faced death threats, fought back tears while speaking about the injunction protecting the identity of the married Premier League footballer with whom she reportedly had an affair.
Thomas said she has been "thrown to the lions" because she did not have the money to pay for her name to be kept private.
She told ITV1 show 'This Morning': "I didn't want my name to be out there in the public domain like this.
"I've been exploited and I just feel just really angry.
"I'm taking responsibility for my actions, I know what I done (sic) was wrong."
Fighting back tears, she said she was "totally baffled" when she heard about the injunction: "There was no way on earth I wanted this to come out, ever."
The model later said she was "outraged" at being accused of trying to blackmail the footballer. Thomas was born and brought up in south Wales and used to suffer from alopecia as a child, losing chunks of her hair.
She is reported to have previously dated footballer Jermain Defoe and comedian-turned-film star Russell Brand.
