Luton Irish Forum opens
When my father came to England in the late 50s he originally settled in Luton alongside hundreds of other young Irish men employed by Vauxhall.
The Irish community in the town has declined over the years but it's estimated that there are still in the region of 20,000 living in Luton.
Today Taoiseach Enda Kenny will open the redeveloped Luton Irish Forum centre on Hitchin Road.
Almost half a million pounds have been spent on the redevelopment, with £250,000 (€302,000) coming from the government's immigrant support programme.
