Knox trial is urged to convict her
A lawyer has urged an Italian appeals court to convict Amanda Knox of murdering Briton Meredith Kercher.
Francesco Maresca, in closing arguments yesterday in the third trial of Ms Knox and co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito, urged the two judges and eight lay jurors to disregard Ms Knox's claims of innocence.
Ms Knox, now 26, spent four years in prison until she was freed in 2011 and returned to her native US, where she remains.
Mr Maresca called the ruling overturning the convictions "science fiction.". The verdict is due in January.
